Abstract

Federico José Huaines introduce en Español y Magütá al abuelo Humberto Pinilla. El abuelo Humberto Pinilla narra en Magütá el cuento del Yukuruchiga. Relata que un hombre crió al Yukuruchi como su mascota, y este lo acompañaba en la cacería. El Yukuruchi tenía la capacidad de transformarse en distintos animales y de dividir su cuerpo en dos partes. Cuando salían a cazar, se partía en dos y ambas mitades atacaban a las presas, lo que permitía al hombre darles muerte y obtener alimento. Un día, durante la caza, el Yukuruchi resultó herido y perdió partes de su cuerpo. Al regresar, descansó en una hamaca y le dijo a su dueño que ya no podía seguir existiendo en este mundo. Entonces decidió partir al lugar sagrado llamado Ichawa icha aru naanewa. Así, el Yukuruchi salió volando hacia su destino, mientras su familia lloraba su partida.

He tells that a man raised the Yukuruchi as his pet, and it accompanied him in hunting. The Yukuruchi had the ability to transform into different animals and to divide its body into two parts. When they went hunting, it split in two, and both halves attacked the prey, allowing the man to kill them and obtain food. One day, during a hunt, the Yukuruchi was injured and lost parts of its body. Upon returning, it rested in a hammock and told its owner that it could no longer exist in this world. It then decided to depart for the sacred place called Ichawa icha aru naanewa. Thus, the Yukuruchi flew away toward its destination, while its family wept for its departure.
