Abstract

El antropólogo Hugo Armando Camacho introduce en Español a la historia. Luego, el abuelo Horacio Peña narra en Magütá la historia de la lechuza (Murutucú). Una joven quedó sola en casa y el ave Murutucú, disfrazada de anciana, se acercó al fuego para calentarse; esa noche devoró a dos niños mientras los demás dormían. El hijo mayor escapó y avisó a su madre y luego al padre que regresaba del lago. El padre comprendió la situación y, fingiendo normalidad, preparó una trampa con brea caliente. The anthropologist Hugo Armando Camacho introduces the story in Spanish. Then, the elder Horacio Peña narrates in Magütá the story of the owl (Murutucú). A young girl was alone at home, and the Murutucú bird, disguised as an old woman, approached the fire to warm herself; that night, it devoured two children while the others slept. The eldest son escaped and alerted his mother and later the father returning from the lake. The father understood the situation and, pretending everything was normal, prepared a trap with hot tar. Upon returning home, he poured the tar over the being, who, feeling the burn, transformed into a bird and said that if she had known, she would have killed them first.
